07/06/2012 – Hace unos días, Boris Gelfand regresó a Israel después del duelo por el título mundial contra Vishy Anand. Sus compatriotas le dieron una calurosa bienvenida y hasta el primer ministro Benjamín Netanyahu se informaba de los resultados del duelo y siguió algunas de las partidas en directo. A su llegada al aereopuerto, Boris fue recibido por su mujer y sus hijos, amigos y varios equipos de cámaras de la televisión. A comienzos de la semana, fue invitado por el ministro de Deportes Limor Livnat. Gelfand aprovechó la oportunidad para apoyar varios torneos internacionales en Israel. El regreso Boris Gelfand a Israel

Fue una celebración frenética e inesperada por Boris Gelfand, la de su regreso a Israel, con docenas de seguidores, familia, amigos, televisiones esperándolo en el aeropuerto internacional Ben Gurion, gritando "¡Bo-ris" ¡Bo-ris!" y aplaudiendo.

con mucha tensión, el equipaje fue encontrado cerca del sitio donde se llevan
los bultos sospechosos de ser bombas. "El resto del equipaje me daría igual, siempre y cuando no hicieran explotar mi ordenador portátil y el
lápiz de memoria que incluye mis análisis de toda la vida y también los preparativos para el Campeonato el Mundo", comentó Boris.
