¿Por qué?
Para retarme a mi mismo y hacer más fuerte mi mente. Tal y como dijo Richard Branson: "Sin duda, desde el propio punto de vista el reto principal es un reto personal". Estoy de acuerdo con él.
Para hacer comprender al mundo del ajedrez que los jugadores profesionales de ajedrez no solo son tíos que se pasan todo el rato delante del tablero. Al ajedrez hoy en día le falta marketing, con lo cual igual esa podría ser una idea: jugar una partida de ajedrez relámpago, saltar, jugar otra partida, volver a saltar... Lo único: solo sería apropiado para torneos cerrados, lógicamente.
Para añadir una nueva experiencia a mi vida.

Alexander Ipatov (arriba a la izquierda), representando a Turquía, ganó el mundial juvenil sub-20 de la FIDE en Atenas (Grecia). Ipatov sumó 10/13, lo mismo que Richard Rapport (arriba a la derecha) de Hungría, que totalizó los mismos puntos, pero tuvo un peor desempate. La medalla de bronce fue para Ding Liren (China) con 9½/13. Según las normas, Ipatov se clasifica para la Copa del Mundo 2013, dentro del ciclo del Campeonato del Mundo 2012-2014.
