09/01/2008 – El GM ucranio Pavel Eljanov es el actual número 27 de la lista mundial y tiene un Elo de 2692. En 2005, venció el Abierto Internacional de Ajedrez "Villa de Benasque". El año pasado ganó el grupo B del Torneo Corus con 9/13 puntos por delante de Sargissian, Bu Xiangzhi y Jakovenko y este año juega en el grupo A de las estrellas del torneo Corus.
