04/01/2022 – El 30 de diciembre se estrenó en los cines de Rusia, la película "The World Champion", la cual es una visión sobre el famoso Match Mundial de Ajedrez Parapsicológico de Baguío (Filipinas) que se disputó entre julio y octubre de 1978, teniendo como protagonistas a los grandes maestros, Anatoly Karpov (campeón) y Viktor Korchnoi (challenger).

Este duelo mundial significó, por entonces, un asunto político de Estado en la URSS, de la cual se cumplen 30 años de su disolución, por estos días. Karpov era el "Campeón del Modelo" y su rival - 20 años mayor - Viktor Korchnoi, era el detestado "Disidente".
Karpov (el entonces campeón mundial) es el guionista principal de la misma, por lo tanto - y como su rival, Korchnoi, falleció en 2016 - un periodista se atrevió a preguntarle, hace pocos días: "¿Harán quedar a Korchnoi como el villano del film?". Fiel a su costumbre, Tolya esquivó políticamente esa pregunta y se expresó con auténtica veleidad de cineasta: "Hemos hecho una de las mejores películas de ajedrez de la historia"
Fue muy conocida la situación de entonces, donde Korchnoi, 20 años mayor que Karpov (un hándicap muy alto para esa clase de competición) además de ser el perseguido soviético, tuvo que padecer el arresto de su familia en la URSS y recibir un boicot profesional en los torneos, todo con el objetivo de mermar su capacidad psíquica y técnica
Así y todo, Viktor "El Terrible" (Korchnoi) presentó una aguerrida batalla, siendo vencido apenas por un punto, en un duelo de largo aliento que culminó en la partida n° 32.
Años después y ante la presión de los ajedrecistas occidentales que se pronunciaban por los derechos de Korchnoi, la URSS admitió este boicot al declararlo oficialmente cesado en 1983.
En el siguiente breve compilado, pueden observarse solo algunos de los flagelos que Korchnoi tuvo que sufrir durante la contienda. Dichos ataques, rozaron desde lo antideportivo hasta lo ilegal, llevando la batalla, incluso, a temas esotéricos...
En aquel momento, entre las varias denuncias explicitadas por el desafiante, este señaló - para curiosidad del público mundial - que estaba siendo influenciado negativamente de manera parapsicológica por un hipnotista soviético cuyo nombre era el de Vladimir Zoukhar.
Los componentes de FAI, fuimos a buscar a uno de los máximos especialistas sobre el tema parapsicológico que existe en el país, el Dr. Antonio Las Heras, quién es muy reconocido por sus apariciones mediáticas en los programas de mayor audiencia nacional.
