22/12/2021 – Entre el 6 y el 16 de diciembre de 2021 se disputó el Campeonato de Argentina Absoluto Individual de Ajedrez. Se coronó campeón Fernando Peralta. Campeonato de Argentina de Ajedrez 2021
Del 6 al 16 de diciembre de 2021, en Buenos Aires
En emocionante definición, y justamente en el día de su cumpleaños número 42, Fernando Peralta conquistó por tercera vez en su historial, el título de Campeón Argentino.
Se presentó a disputar la última ronda con medio punto a su favor. Si hoy le hubiera ganado a Kevin Paveto la obtención del título hubiera sido inmediata, pero ello no fue posible, y debió dividir honores, con lo que todo pasaba a depender de lo que ocurriese con sus escoltas, Leonardo Tristán y Leandro Krysa. La partida de Tristán ante Mario Villanueva se definió a favor de Tristán, con lo que el jugador nacido en Necochea pasó a igualar a Peralta en puntaje. Horas después, Krysa empataba con el anterior campeón, Diego Flores. Con este resultado, quedaba determinado que, de acuerdo al reglamento, sólo Peralta y Tristán debían enfrentarse, como primera instancia, en un match de partidas semirrápidas.
El match lo ganó Fernando Peralta por 1,5 a 0,5. Con ello, su tercera consagración como Campeón Argentino (había alcanzado también este logro en 2006 y 2018).
Ha sido un torneo de excelente nivel, en el que quienes alcanzaron el podio, marcaron el ritmo de las once rondas, dejando atrás a figuras consagradas, como el heptacampeón argentino Diego Flores.
Fue una fiesta para el ajedrez argentino, que celebra que los vaivenes de la pandemia hayan permitido volver a efectuar esta prueba de manera presencial.
