La cuarta temporada de la Tech Mahindra Global Chess League (TechM GCL) se disputa del 5 al 13 de septiembre en Bangalore. La liga presenta un formato por equipos, con hombres y mujeres compitiendo lado a lado.
Cada equipo alinea a seis jugadores en un orden fijo durante todo el torneo. El jugador con mayor Elo, denominado Icono, juega en el primer tablero. Los tableros dos y tres deben estar ocupados por hombres, los tableros cuatro y cinco por mujeres, y el tablero seis por un jugador juvenil nacido en 2004 o posteriormente.
La liga se divide en dos etapas: una Fase Preliminar y una Final. La fase preliminar se juega por sistema de liga a doble vuelta. Los dos equipos con más puntos de match se clasificarán para la final, mientras que los equipos que terminen tercero y cuarto disputarán un match por el tercer puesto.
Todas las partidas se disputan a un ritmo de 20 minutos para toda la partida, con un incremento de 2 segundos a partir de la jugada 41.
