Grand Prix de la FIDE 2019
La competición por el Campeonato del Mundo 2020 comenzará el 17 de mayo en Moscú con el primer torneo de la nueva serie de los torneos del Grand Prix de la FIDE. Esta serie de torneos consiste en cuatro torneos en los cuales participarán los 22 mejores jugadores de ajedrez del mundo. Los dos mejores se clasificarán para el Torneo de Candidatos.
La bolsa de premios asciende a en total 800.000 euros. En cada uno de los torneos se disputarán 130.000 euros en metálico, respectivamente. Al final se repartirán otros 280.000 euros por el rendimiento total.
El primer torneo del Grand Prix de Ajedrez de la FIDE se disputará en Moscú entre el 17 y el 30 de mayo en el Club de Ajedrez Central de Moscú (Gogolevsky Boulevard 14).
