02/05/2023 – La fase final del Campeonato del Mundo, disputado en Astaná, nos deparó un dramatismo sin parangón. Vimos cómo Ding consiguió defenderse de manera tenaz en la partida 14 del duelo y cómo continuaba con una extraordinaria habilidad defensiva en las tres primeras partidas del duelo desempate a partidas rápidas. En la cuarta partida, el GM chino tomó una decisión muy valiente: rechazó las tablas y optó por continuar jugando. Resultó ser una buena decisión pues, le brindó el título de Campeón del Mundo de Ajedrez.
