Con las guías de ChessBase no necesita invertir mucho tiempo para dominar rápidamente los conocimientos. El volumen 5 de la serie está dedicado a las llamadas aperturas de flanco. Comenzamos con la Apertura Inglesa 1.c4. Si las negras responden al modo tradicional con 1...e5, tenemos la Siciliana con os colores cambiados. Hemos dedicado cuatro vídeos a los distintos sistemas: Lars Schandorff le llevará por la Dragón Invertida, la Inglesa de los Cuatro Caballos, el Sistema Botvinnik y las alternativas.
Se continuará con la Inglesa Simétrica 1.c4 c5. ¡Se han escrito libros sobre esa posición! Nuestra tarea es sobre todo facilitar una primera vista general y ha sido acometida por el entrenador de alto nivel Adrian Mikhalchishin.
Luego el gran maestro inglés Daniel King le muestra en dos vídeos sistemas en los que las negras no hacen ...c5 o ...e5 sino que prefieren otros caminos.
El testigo pasa de nuevo a Lars Schandorff para explicar las ideas de la Réti. En tres vídeos facilita una disección de esta apertura tan rica en ideas y contenido, que es la apertura de flanco por antonomasia.
Con otro vídeo ha contribuido el gran maestro eslovaco Lubomir Ftacnik. A estos siguen los vídeos de Daniel King sobre el Ataque Indio de Rey. Este sistema, que también puede alcanzarse bien vía 1.Cf3 o bien vía 1.e4, puede bien considerarse un sistema universal en vez de solo una apertura de flanco, pero desde el punto de vista de las ideas, se adecúa más a este volumen.
Lo mismo es cierto con respecto a la Defensa Holandesa, que quizás muchos de ustedes esperaban ver en los volúmenes tercero o cuarto, pero en vez de forzar innecesariamente el material en un molde concreto, el MF Valeri Lilov ahora le ofrece en tres vídeos un análisis del Sistema Leningrado, el Muro de Piedra y la Holandesa Clásica.
Para poner el broche de cierre, presentamos aperturas que ya no pertenecen al tronco principal de la teoría de aperturas, pero que sin embargo dan placer sobre el tablero y pueden realmente sorprender de vez en cuando. En ellas se incluyen la Apertura Bird (u Holandesa con los colores cambiados), el Sistema Larsen (1.b3) y la Apertura Sokolsky (1.b4)
El extravagante Tandogo de los Caballos Negros, la Apertura Van Geet (1.Cc3), el Ataque Grob (1.g4) y la Defensa Inglesa.
