En la otra partida, Tiviakov, quizá inspirado por su excursión particular a los dólmenes, venció a Hou Yifan en la variante con Ab5 de la Siciliana. Tras un sacrificio de calidad, Sergey logró una fuerte iniciativa y consiguió convertir su ventaja en un final de torres. En el abierto, Friso Nijboer ha tomado el liderato. El XVI Festival de Ajedrez Univé se está llevando a cabo entre el 19 y el 27 de octubre de 2012, en Hoogeveen (Holanda) El torneo principal es el del grupo Corona, con cuatro jugadores que se enfrentan por sistema de liga a dos vueltas con Hikaru Nakamura, EE.UU., Elo 2775; Anish Giri, Holanda, Holanda, Elo 2693; Sergey Tiviakov, Holanda, Elo 2656 e Hou Yifan, China, Elo 2623, Campeona del Mundo Femenina. El promedio de Elo del torneo es de 2687, con lo cual se trata de una competición de la categoría XVIII. Por otra parte, en el torno Abierto Univé participan 78 jugadores. Se trata de un torneo a nueve rondas que ha comenzado el 19 de octubre de 2012. La bolsa de premios asciende a € 7.500, de los cuales € 3.000 serán para el ganador. El favorito principal es Erwin L'Ami.
