20/04/2003 – El inglés Nigel Short venció a una de sius bestias negras, Judit Polgar, y es líder del torneo a falta de una ronda y con un punto de ventaja sobre la magiar, que continúa en segundo lugar. Peter Leko perdió contra su compatriota Peter Acs y perdió la oportunidad de empatar con Polgar. Hoy el invencido Short juega la última partida contra el colista Almasi y unas tablas le sirven para adjudicarse la victoria final.
