Hace unos días, en una entrevista con Kirsan Ilyumzhinov para Russia Today, el rey del fútbol comentó que respeta y adora el ajedrez
Pelé explicó que aunque no jugaba al ajedrez muy bien, que admiraba ese deporte y reconoce sus valores didácticos. Cabe destacar que el brasileño solía ser todo un "ajedrecista" sobre el campo de fútbol. Previamente a cada partido, solía tumbarse durante 20 o 30 mintuso para plantearse y estudiar, qué jugadores iban a ser sus adversarios en el partido y reflexionar, por ejemplo, si eran más fuertes con el pie derecho o izquierdo para adaptar su propio juego de acuerdo con ello.
