Surya Ganguly y Neelash Saha igualmente se suben al podio
El GM Karthik Venkataraman (AP) se mantuvo invicto cuando ganó la 59ª edición en 2022, con 10/13 puntos. Esta vez, también se mantuvo invicto al anotar 9/11 puntos para convertirse en el Campeón de India Absoluto Individual 2024.
GM Surya Sekhar Ganguly (PSPB) y el MI Aronyak Ghosh (RSPB) empataron con el MI Himal Gusain (RSPB) y el GM Lalit Rohit (RSPB) respectivamente en la última ronda. Se creó una ventana de oportunidad para GM Karthik Venkataraman (AP) para ganar el torneo. Derrotó al actual campeón de la Commonwealth, el GM Mitrabha Guha (RSPB), para ganar el evento. Surya terminó segundo en los desempates. El MI Neelash Saha (RSPB) logró una cómoda victoria sobre el MI Sammed Shete (MAH) y terminó tercero. Los tres primeros clasificados sumaron 9/11 cada uno.

Un total de 340 jugadores, incluidos 20 GM, 11 MI y 2 GMT, participaron desde varios estados y unidades de toda la India en este torneo abierto suizo de 11 rondas. El campeonato fue organizado por la Asociación de Ajedrez de Haryana en la Escuela Internacional RPS de Gurugram, Haryana, del 17 al 27 de agosto de 2024.
