22/01/2002 – Una partida realmente trágica para Vassily Ivanchuk, que jugó valientemente y bien. Logró una posición claramente ganadora y luego falló estrepitosamente en los apuros de tiempo. Presionó, no obstante, por la victoria pero el ucraniano de frágiles nervios se metió aún en mayores problemas, para terminar atrapado en una red de mate.
