Los cuartos de final del Speed Chess Women´s Championship arrancaron con dos emocionantes duelos. Polina Shuvalova derrotó a Hou Yifan en desempates tras ganar a tiempo la cuarta y última partida bala (en una posición perdida). Más tarde, Vaishali Rameshbabu eliminó a Alexandra Kosteniuk después de conseguir tres victorias consecutivas en las últimas partidas de la sección de rápidas para imponerse por 9-8.
En ambos casos, la ganadora final había perdido contra exactamente las mismas rivales en la edición anterior de la prueba, como señaló Dani Sharon en X. El año pasado, Hou y Kosteniuk -dos ex campeonas del mundo femeninas- habían derrotado a Shuvalova y Vaishali por 13½-7½ y 13-8, respectivamente.

Los dos duelos de los cuartos de final restantes tendrán lugar el martes: Ju Wenjun vs. Alice Lee, a las 15:30 CEST, y Kateryna Lagno vs. Valentina Gunina, a las 18:00 CEST. Las semifinales y la final se disputarán el miércoles y el jueves, un día antes del comienzo de la prueba principal del Speed Chess Championship, en la que se enfrentarán en París Magnus Carlsen y Hans Niemann.

Dieciséis jugadores compiten en un cuadro de eliminación simple.
Todos los partidos constan de tres segmentos, cada uno de ellos con un temporizador de cuenta atrás con un control de tiempo diferente (ver Formato de partido más abajo).
El jugador con más puntos acumulados al final del último segmento ganará el duelo.
Las partidas que comienzan antes de que se agote el temporizador de cuenta atrás cuentan para la puntuación final.
Si el partido termina en empate, los jugadores disputan un partido de cuatro partidas 1+1
Si el empate persistiese, se disputaría una partida a todo o nada con un tiempo base de 5 minutos determina a la ganadora.

Todos los duelos se dividen en tres segmentos, cada uno con un temporizador de cuenta atrás, como se describe a continuación:
