03/01/2013 – El 29 de diciembre de 2012 se disputó un torneo extraordinario en el Club Central de Ajedrez de Moscú. El campeón mundial de ajedrez rápido Sergey Karjakin, el campeón mundial de ajedrez relámpago Alexander Grischuk, Ian Nepomniachtchi y Dmitry Jakovenko se vieron las caras en un desafío en las modalidades de partidas rápidas y relámpago. Primero disputaron una liga de rápidas y luego otra de ajedrez relámpago. Se coronaría campeón quien sumase la mayor cantidad de puntos en ambas. El premio eran 10 hectáreas de terreno a orillas del río Piterenka, cerca de Moscú. Karjakin se convirtió en terrateniente, al final de una dramática partida a todo o nada contra Alexander Grischuk.
