14/06/2002 – La histórica y laboriosa (así reza el lema de su escudo) ciudad levantina, conocida entre otras cosas por sus cerámicas, alberga durante este fin de semana un nuevo Festival de Ajedrez: magistral, abierto, infantil, Ajedrezmanía... Una ocasión estupenda para acercarse a conocer a las grandes estrellas. Este año repite Karpov y se incorpora Alexandra Kosteniuk ("Shredder is cool!" nos dijo cuando visitó Hamburgo), que llegó con tiempo para aclimatarse y disfrutar de las tierras mediterráneas.
