También ha sido una sorpresa que Anand terminase en último lugar, cosechando 6 tablas y 4 derrotas. En el Hombre vs Máquina Robert Hübner y Deep Fritz finalizaron su enfrentamiento empatados a 3 puntos, con tablas en todas las partidas. El GM Arkadij Naiditsch venció a la campeona de Europa femenina Almira Skripchenko-Lautier 7:3.
