¿Se rindió Sethuraman? No, el resultado dice 0-1. ¿Perdió por tiempo Abhijeet Gupta? ¡No, claro que no! Al final de la partida a las blancas les quedaban 1 minuto y 23 segundos mientras que el bando negro disponía de solamente 42 segundos. O sea, si alguien tenía ventaja de tiempo era el jugador que conducía las piezas blancas. Entonces, ¿cuál es el motivo de la derrota de Abhijeet?
Fíjense bien. Abhijeet solo acababa de realizar el movimiento 46.Dxa6. y la dama de las blancas se está bamboleando...

En la modalidad de ajedrez relámpago, si se cae una pieza sobre el tablero o al suelo y se pulsa el reloj, eso significa que si se vuelve a colocar después, el jugador de la pieza caída está utilizando el tiempo de reflexión del oponente y no el suyo propio. Y eso está prohibido (tal y como también indica la lógica). Esta regla, sin embargo, no se aplica en todos los torneos. Sea como fuese, sí se aplicó en la Liga de Ajedrez de Maharashtra 2016. Sethuraman relamó que se había caído la pieza y se le adjudicó el punto.
