11/05/2012 – Ayer se inauguró el Campeonato del Mundo de Ajedrez 2012 en la Galería Tretiakov en Moscú. Fue un gran espectáculo que contó con la presencia de muchas personas prominentes y célebres. Tras los himnos nacionales de India e Israel, hubo varios discursos y se llevó a cabo el sorteo de colores. Anand jugará con las piezas blancas en la primera partida.
