El torneo se disputará hoy, lunes el 8 de noviembre, en el histórico Hanzas Perons venue, en Riga (Letonia). El torneo se disputa por sistema suizo a nueve rondas, en duelos a dos partidas (una con blancas una con negras). El torneo de ajedrez relámpago, por sistema suizo, se disputará a 9 rondas. Cada ronda consiste en dos partidas a ritmo super rápido (3 minutos, más 2 segundos de incremento), de manera que en cada duelo ambos jugadores hayan podido jugar una partida con las piezas blancas y otra con negras. Los emparejamientos se realizarán a base de las valoraciones Elo FIDE en la modalidad de ajedrez relámpago.
La bolsa de premios asciende a 60.000 dólares estadounidenses. De este importe, 10.000 dólares se reservan para jugadoras femeninas que la FIDE ha proveído para este fin.
