Gran Prix de la FIDE 2012 en Londres
Entre el 20 de septiembre y el 4 de octubre, Londres será sede del primero de los seis torneos que forman parte de la nueva serie del Grand Prix de la FIDE 2012/13, organizado por AGON.
Allí 12 grandes maestros de la flor y nata mundial se verán las caras. Peter Svidler ha sido reemplazado por Michael Adams en el último momento porque
el ruso se ha tenido que retirar por asuntos familiares. Las partidas se juegan
en Simpson’s-in-the-Strand. Las partidas comienzan a las 14:00 hora local (15:00 CEST, 17:00
en Moscú, 09:00 en Nueva York) La bolsa de premios asciende a 240,000 euros.

Giri - Ivanchuk: En una partida un tanto rara (Giri realizó más de un tercio de sus movimientos con la dama) los jugadores firmaron tablas en un medio juego de alfiles de colores opuestos que solo podría haber llegado a ser favorable para las negras, pero incluso eso no quedaba muy claro. Tablas.
Leko-Adams: Esa partida no entrará en la lista de las partidas más interesantes
de todos los tiempos. Se podía ver a 100 km de distancia que se iban a firmar las tablas. Tablas.
Gelfand - Wang: Tras un avance dudoso con los peones por el flanco de dama, Wang Hao comenzó a pasarlo mal. Sin embargo, gracias a un juego imaginativo, el chino, entró en un final con un peón de desventaja. La lucha se lleva a cabo entre el caballo, la torre y los tres peones de Gelfand contra el alfil, la torre y dos peones de Wang Hao. Normalmente, eso fácilmente puede conducir a unas tablas.
El rey negro también está contra las cuerdas porque le cortan el camino de la séptima fila. Después de que interviniese una pieza menor, parece que la partida podrá terminar en tablas. Pero luego Wang Hao de repente comete un terrible error al jugar 49… f5+? Gelfand
