En la séptima ronda del torneo de Londres del Grand Prix de la FIDE, Gelfand realizó esa maniobra contra Adams, aunque solo en el movimiento 10 y seguramente no por pura petulancia. Boris siguió un variante de la Rossolimo que habían jugado Adams y Edouard, hasta que el primero se desvió en el movimiento 13. Luego el inglés logró una ligera iniciativa contra el rey negro que no se había enrocado, pero en el camino perdió dos peones que más adelanten hecharía en falta durante el final de torres. La otra victoria de la jornada la pudo celebrar Mamedyarov (en la foto), quien se impuso a Nakamura en una India de Rey. Gelfand lidera con 5 puntos, por delante de Mamedyarov (4,5) Ronda 7...

Gran Prix de la FIDE 2012 en Londres
Entre el 20 de septiembre y el 4 de octubre, Londres será sede del primero de los seis torneos que forman parte de la nueva serie del Grand Prix de la FIDE 2012/13, organizado por AGON.
Allí 12 grandes maestros de la flor y nata mundial se verán las caras. Peter Svidler ha sido reemplazado por Michael Adams en el último momento porque
el ruso se ha tenido que retirar por asuntos familiares. Las partidas se juegan
en Simpson’s-in-the-Strand. Las partidas comienzan a las 14:00 hora local (15:00 CEST, 17:00
en Moscú, 09:00 en Nueva York) La bolsa de premios asciende a 240,000 euros.
