Lothar Schmid cumplió 75

14/05/2003 – El 10 de mayo el Gran Maestro alemán Lothar Schmid cumplió 75 años y aprovechamos para felicitarlo. No sólo fue un fuerte jugador, que logró victorias frente a jugadores de la talla de Bogoljubov, Keres y Botvinnik, sino que también fue editor y posee una de las mejores colecciones del mundo de libros de ajedrez. Pero el aspecto de su biografía que lo ha hecho más famoso fue el arbitraje y, en concreto, su participación en el memorable encuentro por el campeonato del mundo disputado en Reykjavik en 1972 entre Fischer y Spassky. Pequeño homenaje.
