11/06/2024 – Entre el 10 y el 15 de junio de 2024, se está llevando a cabo el Festival de Ajedrez de Madrid. Se disputan dos torneos cerrados con 10 jugadores z un abierto por sistema suizo, a nueve rondas con 48 participantes. Participan personalidades conocidas y populares como, por ejemplo, Levy Rozman, Eric Rosen y Anna Cramling. Entre las estrellas en ciernes invitadas a jugar destaca el jovencito Faustino Oro, de 10 años, que intenta convertirse en el maestro internacional más joven de todos los tiempos.

Tras obtener su segunda norma de MI en el Continental de las Américas, Faustino Oro tiene posibilidades reales de convertirse en el MI más joven de todos los tiempos. Para batir el récord de Abhimanyu Mishra (10 años, 9 meses y 20 días), el prodigio argentino necesita sumar al menos 5½ puntos en el Torneo Cerrado B que se disputa en Madrid.
El Festival de Ajedrez de Madrid comenzó el lunes y se cerrará el sábado. El festival cuenta con dos torneos cerrados de 10 jugadores y un abierto suizo a 9 rondas con 48 participantes. Cada partida se jugará con un control de tiempo de 90 minutos para todo el encuentro con incrementos de 30 segundos por jugada.
Los organizadores han invitado a numerosas personalidades del ajedrez, como Pepe Cuenca, Levy Rozman (Cerrado A), Eric Rosen (Cerrado B) y Anna Cramling (Abierto).
El torneo cerrado A cuenta con un jugador clasificado por encima de los 2500 puntos Elo, 7 jugadores en la franja de clasificación 2400-2500 y 2 jugadores clasificados por debajo de 2400. En la primera ronda, Levy Rozman (también conocido como Gotham Chess), de Estados Unidos, se impuso al argentino Tomás Sosa.
Rozman encontró una buena jugada para simplificar en una posición superior sin dama en la jugada 22.

La conversión no fue nada fácil y contó con errores por parte de ambos jugadores, pero al final Rozman logró superar a Sosa y convertirse en uno de los tres jugadores que comparten el primer puesto tras ganar sus partidas de apertura en Madrid -José «Pepe» Cuenca, de España, y Akira Nakada, de Estados Unidos, también se anotaron victorias el lunes-.
