Fabiano Caruana se vio en terribles apuros en su partida contra Levon Aronian. Aronian se manifestó descontento con su juego, pero ganó la partida. Hikaru Nakamura empató con Teimour Radjabov. El encuentro Tomashevsky - Grischuk igualmente concluyó en tablas. Los que más tiempo aguantaron sobre el escenario fueron Vladimir Kramnik y Alexander Morozevich. VII Memorial Tal 2012
Entre el 8 y el 19 de junio de 2012 se disputa Memorial Tal 2012, en la Casa Pashkov (Vozdvizhenka 3/5, p.1) en Moscú
(Rusia) Los días de descanso son el 11 y el 15 de junio. La competición es por sistema de liga,
con 9 rondas y un control de tiempo de 100 minutos para los primeros 40 movimientos, seguido por 50 minutos para los siguientes 20 movimientos y finalmente 15 minutos para el resto de la partida. El incremento por
jugada es de 30 segundos desde el comienzo. Las rondas empiezan a las 15:00 hora de Moscú, es decir, a las 13:00 CEST (Madrid/París/Berlín). La última ronda comienza a las 13:00 h. No se permite ofrecer tablas antes del primer control de tiempo. Los participantes comentarán sus partidas en la sala de prensa tras cada ronda. La bolsa de premios asciende a 100.000 euros.
