Mamedyarov gana el Masters de Córcega 2010

03/11/2010 – Después de que en el Abierto de Bastia, disputado entre el 24 y el 30 de octubre, se hubiesen clasificado 14 jugadores para la final, estos se dieron cita en Ajaccio, con los dos jugadores estrella invitados, Teimour Radjabov y Shakhriyar Mamedyarov. La final se llevó a cabo por eliminatorias, en el Centro de Congresos de la ciudad. Finalmente, y como marcaba la probabilidad, en el duelo final se vieron las caras Mamedyarov y Radjabov. Disputaron cuatro partidas de ajedrez relámpago. Mamedyarov ganó una con blancas y otra con negras, mientras que Radjabov ganó en una ocasión con blancas. La cuarta partida terminó en tablas, por lo que Mamedyarov se coronó vencedor. El organizador Leo Battesti demostró que no tiene miedo a grandes nombres y hasta se enfrentó en unas simultáneas con las dos estrellas invitadas. Reportaje final ilustrado...
