Por ello el repertorio que recomienda en estos DVD es una combinación de buenas líneas de su antiguo repertorio que han soportado la prueba del tiempo y nuevas líneas inspiradas por su mirada fresca a la Pirc.
En los sistemas posicionales, las blancas no intentan refutar la Pirc desde las primeras jugadas, sino que apuntan a una larga batalla estratégica para probar que su ventaja de espacio y mejor desarrollo le dará al final mejor posición. Estos sistemas en modo alguno son inofensivos y para aguantar y lograr contrajuego, las negras deben en primer lugar dominar las ideas posicionales y tácticas básicas que explico con detalle. Hay unas pocas variantes concretas que examino junto con las ideas generales y deberían resultar bastante fáciles de memorizar. Si estudia el DVD con cuidado, debería ser capaz de alcanzar mediojuegos estratégicos complejos en los que el mejor jugador tiene mejores opciones de victoria.
Al jugar la Pirc se debe conocer qué hacer contra los sistemas de ataque de las blancas. La ventaja de espacio ofrece a las blancas gran cantidad de posibilidades activas, pero cuando las blancas se muestran agresivas crean debilidades en su propio campamento que las negras pueden usar para contraatacar. Hay algunas líneas forzadas pero en su mayor parte se basan en los principios elementales de dinámica y desarrollo. Con esos principios se debería poder encontrar el camino al afrontar una novedad o si se olvidan los análisis. Las posiciones resultantes son normalmente dinámicas o de doble filo y ofrecen opciones bastante equilibradas. Quien domine mejor la táctica debe ganar, pero no se desilusione si la partida termina en unas espectaculares y lógicas tablas.
