06/04/2022 – Tykhon Cherniaiev es un Maestro Candidato ucraniano, doble campeón del mundo en la categoría sub-10 en las modalidades de ajedrez rápido y relámpago. El joven talento (Elo 2209) cumplió 12 años el primero de marzo. Debido a la guerra, Tykohn y su familia se han tenido que huir de Járkiv y han encontrado un lugar seguro en Hamburgo, acogidos por los colegas de ChessBase. The family Cherniaiev went through hell in their effort to escape the war zone of Kharkiv, which is currently being reduced to rubble by the Russians. The father, Sergey, had to stay behind. Mother Svetlana, grandmother Larissa, and sister Ustynya needed a full week to make it out of the country, but finally they all arrived in Hamburg.
La familia Cherniaiev pasó por un infierno al refugiarse de Ucrania por la guerra. Tuvieron que escaparse de la zona de guerra de Kharkiv, que ha sido destrozada por los invasores rusos. El padre, Sergey tuvo que quedarse ahí para luchar junto con sus compatriotas. La madre, Svetlana, la abuela, Larissa, y la hermana, Ustynya, necesitaron una semana entera para salir del país, pero finalmente han llegado a Hamburgo y ha sido acogida por la "familia ChessBase".
Están alojados en el piso de alquiler que tiene ChessBase y ya se han podido registrar oficialmente en las autoridades. Hemos organizado que los niños puedan ir a un colegio de deportes de elite en Hamburgo. Así será más fácil compaginar los estudios escolares y el entrenamiento de ajedrez de Tykhon. Además hemos podido organizar un entrenamiento especial a cargo de un gran maestro para el chaval. (Read about his chess career here).
