30/09/2024 – Ian Nepomniachtchi ha ganado el Memorial Vugar Gashimov en Shusha, Azerbaiyán. Ganó el torneo de ajedrez rápido y quedó segundo en el de blitz, lo que le bastó para hacerse con el primer puesto de la general. Los otros dos puestos del podio fueron ocupados por Nodirbek Abdusattorov y Shakhriyar Mamedyarov. El favorito por rating, Ian Nepomniachtchi, se impuso en el Memorial Vugar Gashimov. Conocido por su estilo de juego rápido, Nepomniachtchi terminó un punto por delante del joven uzbeko Nodirbek Abdusattorov. Le siguió el azerbaiyano Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, dos puntos por detrás.
