13/07/2004 – El gran maestro uzbeco Rustam Kasimdzhanov venció al inglés Michael Adams en las partidas de desempate de hoy a ritmo rápido y se ha adjudicado el Campeonato Mundial FIDE celebrado en Libia. Adams iba ganando claramente la primera partida con blancas, pero cometió un desliz y terminó perdiendo. En la segunda partida "Kasim" no tuvo problemas para amarrar las tablas.
