Día 5 - Blitz
Del 11 al 15 de junio se celebra en Londres el Campeonato Mundial de Rápidas y Blitz por Equipos 2025, organizado por la FIDE. Más de 50 equipos participan en esta competencia que combina el formato por equipos con el ajedrez rápido y relámpago. Cada equipo cuenta con seis tableros y debe incluir al menos una representante femenina y un jugador considerado «recreativo», es decir, sin haber alcanzado nunca los 2000 puntos de Elo.
Durante los primeros tres días se disputa el torneo de rápidas, estructurado en 12 rondas por sistema suizo. El ritmo de juego es de 15 minutos con 10 segundos de incremento por jugada desde el primer movimiento. Los dos días restantes se dedican al torneo de blitz, que se inicia con una fase preliminar por grupos y concluye con un cuadro eliminatorio entre los 16 mejores equipos. Cada enfrentamiento directo se decide mediante dos mini-matches.
Entre los principales aspirantes al título se encuentra el equipo WR, patrocinado por Wadim Rosenstein, que alinea a seis súper-GMs. Esta es la tercera edición del torneo, que se destaca por su formato inclusivo, que permite la conformación libre de equipos, siempre que se respeten los requisitos de diversidad de género y nivel de juego.
