¡Al ataque!
Nihal Sarin nació el 13 de julio de 2004 y es uno de los talentos más impresionantes del mundo. Llegó a ser gran maestro a los 14 años de edad. A la misma edad, superó la barrera de los 2600 puntos Elo. Aparte de él, únicamente hay dos jugadores más que han logrado esa hazaña: John Burke (EE. UU.) y Wei Yi (China).
Sin embargo, Burke logró el título también debido a las peculiaridades del sistema Elo. En julio de 2015, el jugador estadounidense tenía una valoración Elo de 2258, pero tras una serie de buenos resultados, y gracias al tener el factor K en 40, había saltado a 2603 en agosto de 2015. Actualmente, Burke tiene una valoración Elo 2522, es decir, que tiene casi 100 puntos Elo menos que Nihal Sarin con 2620.
En diciembre de 2020, el joven indio pudo celebrar otro éxito más: ganó el Campeonato Juvenil y de Cadetes Online de la FIDE. Su partida con Francesco Sonis fue particularmente espectacular y le brindó el "Premio de la Brillantez Gazprom".
Nueve "youtubers" conocidos formaron el jurado y cinco de ellos votaron por Nihal y su partida, porque se habían quedado muy impresionados su el ataque con sacrifico.
