Olimpiada de Ajedrez online para personas con discapacidades
61 equipos de 45 países diferentes toman parte en la primera Olimpiada Online de Ajedrez para Personas con Discapacidades, organizada por la Federación International de Ajedrez (FIDE). El evento arranca hoy, con la ceremonia de apertura, y la final está programada para el 3 de Diciembre, fecha reconocida por la ONU como el Día Internacional de las Personas con Discapacidades.
En la competición toman parte unos 400 jugadores (incluyendo reservas) de todos los rincones del mundo. Entre ellos, hay dos participantes con el título de Gran Maestro, la mayor distinción que puede recibir un ajedrecista.
Polonia, Alemania y Filipinas son los principales favoritos, pero Cuba también se destaca como cuarta favorita en el ranking inicial, por delante de super potencias ajedrecísticas como Rusia o Ucrania.
