17/10/2004 – En la tercera ronda de la XXXVI Olimpiada de Ajedrez, en el apartado masculino, Ucrania sigue imparable y le anotó un 4:0 a la República Checa. Israel y Bulgaria la siguen de cerca. Cuba ganó a Letonia 2,5:1,5 y España A logró idéntico marcador frente a Lituania, lo mismo que Argentina contra Colombia. En la competición femenina, Alemania se impuso a Kazakhstan 2,5: 0,5 y China le endosó un 3:0 a Letonia. España A perdió frente a Ucrania y Argentina contra Israel. Ecuador ganó a la República Checa.
