17/09/2018 – Entre el 5 y el 16 de septiembre se disputaron los Campeonatos del Mundo Juveniles en las secciones absoluta y femenina. Parham Maghsoodloo se coronó Campeón del Mundo Juvenil sub-20 y se llevó la medalla de oro. Subcampeón quedo Abhimanyu Puranik, seguido por Aram Hakobyan (plata) y Sergei Lobanov (bronce). En la sección femenina, Aleksandra Maltsevskaya se llevó el título Aleksandra Maltsevskaya. Su más cercana perseguidora y ahora subcampeona, Gulrukhbegim Tokhirjonova solo logró unas tablas en el duelo directo entre las dos ocupó el segundo puesto.
