23/06/2004 – Francois-André Danican Philidor fue uno de los mejores jugadores de ajedrez de su tiempo y también un destacado músico y compositor. De su veintena de óperas, la más conocida, Tom Jones, fue representada hace poco en las jornadas de música antigua en la histórica y turística ciudad bávara de Bamberg. En el programa se incluyó también una lectura sobre ajedrez, una exposición sobre Philidor y una partida de ajedrez viviente, con los destacados grandes maestros locales Lothar Schmid y Helmut Pfleger.
