20/11/2010 – En la primera semifinal del torneo Cuadrangular Centenario de la UNAM, Judit Polger se ha clasificado para la final, al vencer a Vassily Ivanchuk. El ucranio ganó la primera partida con negras y Polgar la segunda, también con negras. Ivanchuk no se recuperó de esa derrota. La tercera partida terminó en tablas y la cuarta con otra victoria con negras para la húngara, tras 115 movimientos. Después de la partida, en la rueda de prensa Judit se mostró tan radiante, afable y encantadora como siempre. Judit con su intérprete espontáneo. Judit entiende bastante bien el castellano y también
lo puede hablar un poco pero prefería no practicar justamente en una rueda de prensa.
Acerca de las cuatro partidas de hoy contra Ivanchuk, Polgar comentó que después de la derrota de Ivanchuk,
le deber haber sido psicológicamente muy difícil recuperarse y al final perdió el duelo.
Judit, radiante y simpática como siempre
Judit contó que aprendió a jugar a los 5 años, que sus dos hermanas ya sabían jugar y que sus padres se concentraban en enseñarla a jugar muy bien al
ajedrez. Por lo demás recibieron clases en casa de sus padres.
Comentó también que hace 10 años que no ha jugado en México pero que espera encontrarse en la final con Manuel León Hoyos.
Preguntado si le gustaría empujar el ajedrez en México contestó que le parece que o parece empujar mucho porque por lo que se ve los mejicanos ya lo empujan muy bien por su propia iniciativa, pero que está encantada de ser parte de un acontecimiento tan bonito como lo es esta Gran Fiesta de Ajedrez.
La última pregunta fue la de un niño del público que quería saber si se plantea ser
Campeona del Mundo "uno de esos días". Judit contestó que le encantaría, pero que
aún tenía que trabajar mucho para conseguirlo.
"Y, aprovechando el viaje, igual me firmas también un autógrafo..."
Claro que sí.
