23/08/2002 – El Campeón del Mundo FIDE estuvo en España para los actos de presentación del I Festival de Ajedrez de Benidorm. En la rueda de prensa que dio asignó el papel de favorito a Kasparov, aunque está dispuesto a trabajar duro para dar la sorpresa. También mencionó a su ayudante Karyakin, que recientemente se ha convertido en el GM más joven de la historia del ajedrez. Tiene la noticia en Jaque y en Marca.
