04/04/2011 – En la última jornada volvieron a ganar el MI Bernardo Roselli y los GMs Andrés Rodríguez y Salvador Alonso; los tres competidores que, al estar separados por tan solo medio punto, permanecían con la posibilidad de obtener el primer puesto en el Campeonato Individual Absoluto 2011 de Uruguay. Mientras que Roselli jugaba con negras una India de Dama, que transcurrió con equilibrio frente a Granara, Andrés Rodríguez, con una Defensa Benoni presionaba al alcanzar la victoria frente a Camila Colombo, luego de que ésta dejara pasar la oportunidad de un avance de peón e5 que parecía permitirle cristalizar una ventaja de dos peones. Finalmente, Roselli pudo quebrar a su adversario cuando en el momento decisivo Granara omitiera un interesante movimiento de caballo a f4, que le hubiera otorgado máxima ventaja. Crónica de la última ronda, por la Federación Uruguaya de Ajedrez
En tanto el GM Andrés Rodríguez venció a Camila Colombo con piezas negras, en 51 movimientos y el MI Bernardo Roselli, con negras, alcanzó la victoria ante Sebastián Granara en 47 jugadas, el visitante argentino, GM Salvador Alonso con negras daba cuenta del escribano MF Gabriel Curi luego de 66 jugadas de una variante Alapin de la Defensa Siciliana. En las restantes partidas, con blancas el MI Martín Crosa logró
quebrar la resistencia de su tocayo Martín Arién 46 movimientos. MF Manuel Larrea ganó finalmente a un desconocido MN Álvaro Guerrero con un Fianchetto Inglés en 31 jugadas, luego que el segundo jugador cometiera una
imprecisión comprometiendo una pieza en la jugada 14. Y con blancas, el joven Mateo Arcos se impuso con gran estilo del arquitecto MN Rafael
Muñiz, en 37 jugadas de una Defensa Siciliana.
De esta manera finalizó campeonato uruguayo que quedaron la historia por su gran
organización y por el nivel de los competidores.

El antiguo y nuevo Campeón de Uruguay Individual Absoluto y presidente de la Federación Uruguaya, Bernardo Roselli con su trofeo
Bernardo Roselli Mailhe es un ajedrecista uruguayo, nacido en Carmelo, departamento de Colonia, en 17 de septiembre de 1965. Quedó
Campeón Nacional sub-16 en 1981. En 1984 sorprendió al ganar el campeonato uruguayo a los 19 años, siendo el Campeón más joven de la historia del ajedrez uruguayo, ganador además del título en su primera participación en el torneo nacional. En 1985 participa en el Zonal Sudamericano en Corrientes donde obtiene sus primeras victorias frente a Grandes Maestros, Jaime Sunye Neto de Brasil y Miguel Ángel Quinteros de Argentina, los dos más fuertes del torneo. Por esta actuación obtiene el título de Maestro FIDE. En Montevideo en 1994 consigue la tercera y definitiva norma de Maestro Internacional, MI, otorgado por la Federación Internacional de Ajedrez (FIDE). A la fecha (2009) resultó catorce veces campeón nacional. Actualmente realiza, además de su participación en numerosas competencias, una intensa labor docente en la organización Educajedrez y diversos centros escolares y liceales del país. El 12 de diciembre de 2009 fue electo Presidente de la Federación Uruguaya de Ajedrez.
