Rafael Leitao ganó el Memorial Armando Rizzoni en Campinas
15/05/2009 – Entre el 4 y el 14 de mayo, se celebró el Memorial Dr. Armando Rizzoni 2009 en Campinas (Brasil, a unos 100 kilómetros de Sao Paulo). Se coronó vencedor el gran maestro brasilleño Rafael Leitão con 11 puntos en 13 rondas (pero 12 partidas) En segunda posición, a dos puntos de distancia, se clasificó Alexandr Fier (9/12) y el tercer lugar lo ocupó Andrés Rodríguez, de Uruguay con 8,5 puntos. La competición, organizada por la Federacão Paulista de Xadrez, era válida para obtener normas FIDE y contó con la participación de jugadores de Brasil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, España y Perú.
