Record de simultáneas

30/04/2004 – Cuba ha batido su propio record de simultáneas de ajedrez, al alcanzar los 13.000 tableros. Se celebró en la ciudad de Santa Clara, frente al mausoleo donde está enterrado Ernesto "Che" Guevara, durante los actos de clausura de la II Olimpiada del Deporte Cubano. En el acontecimiento participó también Anatoly Karpov, que se hizo cargo de 11 tableros. La mejor marca anterior fue de 11.320 ajedrecistas que jugaron 5.660 partidas simultáneas y sucedió en la Plaza de la Revolución de La Habana, en diciembre de 2002. Noticia en la CNN.
