20/04/2023 – En paralelo al Campeonato del Mundo, una selección de las mejores jugadoras de ajedrez de Kazajistán se enfrentó con el equipo "Resto del Mundo", en un duelo amistoso disputado en Astaná (Kazajistán). Primero hubo dos jornadas de ajedrez rápido y a continuación otra jornada con partidas en la modalidad de ajedrez relámpago. Se impuso "El Resto del Mundo" tanto en el ajedrez como en el ajedrez relámpago y por lo tanto ganó el duelo. En el programa que acompañaba el duelo por el Campeonato del Mundo de Ajedrez entre Ian Nepomniachtchi y Ding Liren, se disputó un duelo amistoso femenino entre los equipos "Kazajistán" vs. "Resto del Mundo".
La selección kazaja contaba con las mejores jugadoras del país, entre ellas, por ejemplo, Bibisara Assaubayeva, Zhansaya Abdumalik y Dinara Saduakassova. El equipo "Resto del Mundo" estaba encabezado por Hou Yifan, que oficialmente se ha retirado en gran medida del ajedrez profesional, y por Harika Dronavalli.

La selección mundial demostró ser el mejor equipo y ganó el duelo de la primera jornada de rápidas con 18,5:13,5. Las kazajas lograron igualar en la segunda jornada de ajedrez rápido con 16:16, pero no pudieron remontar la desventaja. No obstante, la jugadora juvenil sub-16 kazaja Alua Nurmanova fue la mejor jugadora de la comparativa de ajedrez rápido, con siete puntos en ocho rondas. El marcador tras dos jornadas de ajedrez rápido quedó en 34,5: 29,5, a favor del equipo "Resto del Mundo".
En el torneo de ajedrez relámpago, disputado en una tercera jornada de juego, el equipo "Resto del Mundo" volvió a demostrar su supremacia. El marcador final de dicho torneo quedó en 38,5:25,5. Los mejores resultados individuales en las partidas de ajedrez relámpago, las obtuvieron: Nurgyul Salimova (Bulgaria), y Afruza Khamdamova (Uzbequistán). Ambas sumaron 6,5 puntos en ocho rondas. Afruza Khamdamova también se mantuvo como única jugadora invicta entre las 16 participantes en el torneo de ajedrez relámpago.
Los resultados de las dos jugadoras nacionales kazajas Zhanzaya Abdumalik (2,5/8) y Dinara Saduakassova (1,5/8) en el torneo de ajedrez relámpago, fueron algo decepcionantes, teniendo en cuenta lo fuertes que son.
