Los enfrentamientos empezaron a las 9:30 horas de la mañana con la décima ronda de la competición, de la que salía vencedor en el grupo A Rinat Jumabayev. El joven de Kazajistán tiene el título de Gran Maestro desde 2009 y es el número uno en su país. Los desempates de la tarde proclamaban al moldavo Dmitry Svetushkin y al alemán Julian Martin como segundo y tercer clasificados. | Fotografías: Gerd Densing

El joven gran maestro se impuso en la última ronda al argentino Leandro Krysa, con un total de 8,5 puntos.
Marc Petit ha ganado en la categoría B aunque su adversario Marc Calonge, con quien se disputaba el primer puesto con Elena Casset, no se ha presentado. El punto a favor le ha hecho sumar 8,5, igual que a Casset, que ha obtenido el segundo puesto después de ganar a Marc Urgell. El tercer puesto ha ido a parar para Adrián García.
En el grupo C, Carlos Segura ha quedado en lo más alto de la clasificación incluso habiendo perdido la última ronda. El segundo y tercer lugar han sido para Víctor Oliva y Adam Abdelkader.
El primer premio por equipos ha ido a las manos del Botvinnik Chess School de Rusia. Esta escuela, una de las más importantes del país, venía con representantes tan importantes como el gran maestro Stanislav Novikov, undécimo en la clasificación, y la joven promesa de tan solo siete años, Lev Zverev, que ha quedado primero en la categoría sub-14.
El club de Ajedrez Mollet se ha llevado la segunda posición. Los miembros más destacados del club son Daniele Vocaturo y Leandro Krysa, que han quedado sexto y decimotercero en la clasificación del grupo A.
La ceremonia de clausura ha contado con la presencia de Laura Pérez, concejala de Sants-Montjuïc, Albert Deusedes, consejero de Deportes del Distrito Sants-Montjuïc, la presidenta del Secretariado de Entidades de Sants, Hostafrancs y la Bordeta, Lluïsa Erill y Josep Viñas, presidente de la Federación Catalana de Ajedrez.
La decimonovena edición cierra sus puertas con el cartel de pleno histórico. Durante diez días, 796 jugadores de los cinco continentes han llenado las diferentes salas del centro cívico Cotxeres de Sants. El edificio histórico hace diecinueve años que acoge esta competición y espera impaciente batir un nuevo récord por su vigésimo aniversario el próximo año.
