23/05/2012 – Eric van Reem es empleado de Lufthansa y organizador de torneos de ajedrez. Además forma parte del equipo de Anand y fue el héroe que antes del último mundial en Sofía organizó un viaje en furgoneta de 40 horas hasta el lugar del encuentro porque Anand no podían volar debido a los problemas ocasionados por la ceniza de un volcán islandés. Recordemos que la silla se había hundido con el peso de Karpov, que entonces pesaría alrededor de los 60 kilos. Por eso se está riendo Kasparov.
¡Este duelo era muy anhelado por los periodistas! El sábado, 19 de mayo, se disputó un torneo de ajedrez relámpago por sistema Scheveningen entre un equipo de mujeres rubias contra otro de morenas en el Club Central de Ajedrez Botvinnik. Las reglas
eran muy simples: se requería que las jugadoras tuviesen un Elo superior
a 2100, pero lo más importante era el color del pelo. Además, las rubias tenían que vestir ropa de colores claros y las morenas, de colores oscuros.
