29/12/2011 – Durante la ceremonia inaugural se disputó un duelo amistoso entre jugadores de Francia y del País Vasco. Cada equipo estaba formado por 6 integrantes. El organizador principal del festival, Felix Izeta (en la foto) jugó en el primer tablero y ganó ambas partidas contra Sebastian Mace. A pesar de un gran espíritu de lucha, el duelo terminó en empate. Según las reglas, solamente 64 jugadores pueden participar en el grupo A; como se querían inscribir 79, se disputó una ronda previa eliminatoria entre los 15 últimos. La primera ronda de los torneos A, B, y C comenzará hoy jueves, 29 de diciembre de 2011 a las 15:00 CET.
