09/01/2008 – En el duelo directo entre los dos líderes, Josep Manuel López Martínez se impuso a Daniel Cámpora, alcanzando el liderato en solitario con unos impresionantes 5 puntos en 5 rondas y relegando al séptimo puesto al hasta ahora colíder. El español de origen uzbeco Khamrakulov, jugando con negras, venció a Rizouk y ahora ocupa la segunda posición de la tabla, a medio punto de distancia del líder.
