TATA Steel Chess India Rapid & Blitz, el torneo más importante de India, se disputará entre el 29 de noviembre y el 4 de diciembre de 2022. Ya será la cuarta edición del torneo abierto. En esta ocasión, el torneo Tata Steel Chess India además contará con una sección femenina por primera vez. Dicho torneo se disputará con el mismo formato, ajedrez rápido y relámpago.
Lo que ha pasado hasta ahora
Nihal Sarin consiguió 2,5/3 en la segunda jornada de juego y ha tomado el mando en solitaro con 4,5/6 puntos en el torneo Tata Steel Chess India 2022 de partidas rápidas. El joven de 18 años ganó las partidas contra Gukesh y Sethuraman, y empató con Wesley So, y encabeza la clasificación con un punto de ventaja.
Su amigo Arjun Erigaisi y el líder del día anterior, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (AZE), van con 3,5/6 puntos cada uno. Ambos comenzaron la jornada de ayer con jornada con una derrota. Hikaru Nakamura se anotó 2,5/3 para saltar del noveno al cuarto puesto. Vidit Gujrathi logró su primera victoria del evento contra Nodirbek Abdusattorov, quien sufrió dos derrotas consecutivas en la ronda 4 y 5, antes de derrotar a Sethuraman S P.
En la sección femenina, la GM Nana Dzagnidze sigue siendo la única líder tras la sexta ronda del Tata Steel Chess India 2022 de rápidas. Firmó tablas en las tres partidas disputadas hasta ahora. La GM Koneru Humpy ha sido la única que estaba a punto de acabar con la racha de imbatibilidad de la georgiana. Sin embargo, a pesar de su fantástica ventaja en la apertura, la número 1 de la India y número 3 del mundo no lograron aprovechar la oportunidad. Junto con otras tres mujeres, GM Anna Ushenina (Ucrania), la GM Mariya Muzychuk (Ucrania) y la MI Vaishali R, tienen 4 puntos de seis posibles cada una. Vaishali comenzó el día de ayer con una victoria frente a Anna Muzychuk. A continuación empató con la GM Harika Dronavalli y derrotó convincentemente a la MIF Savitha Shri B en la sexta ronda.
