Sin embargo, la ex campeona del mundo Nona Gaprindashvili no está del todo contento con la producción y que no se siente lo suficientemente bien representada en la serie.

La serie de Netflix "The Queens's Gambit" emocionó tanto a lo scríticos como a los espectadores y creado todavía más seguidores al deporte ciencia. La serie había ganado el Premio Emmy, el premio a las mejores producciones televisivas, similar al Premio Oscar a las producciones cinematográficas.
Los días 11 y 12 de septiembre ya se entregaron los premios a las mejores producciones en numerosas categorías técnicas. La serie "The Queen's Gambit" ya había recibido nueve premios Emmy en las categorías mejor miniserie, casting, cinematografía, vestuario, edición, maquillaje, música, edición de sonido, mezcla de sonido y diseño de producción.
El domingo pasado, se entregaron los Premios Emmy principales y la serie completó la colección de galardones con el Emmy por ser la mejor "serie limitada o de antología excepcional" y por la "mejor dirección por una serie o película de antología o limitada".
Cuando le preguntaron al director de la serie, Scott Frank si iba a haber una continuación, Frank respondió:
"Lo siento mucho. No me gusta disgustar a la gente, pero no, no habrá. Me parece que hemos contado toda la historia que querríamos contar y me causa angustia imaginarme como sería exprimir la historia aún más y arruinarlo todo".
Según Netflix, en octubre de 2020, "The Queen's Gambit" fue la mini serie más exitosa jamás. Casi 62 millones de familias han seguido la serie en todo el mundo. A comienzos del año 2021, la serie y la actritz protagonista, Anya Taylor-Joy, recibieron el premio Golden Globe.
La semana pasada se hizo público que la ex campeona del mundo, Nona Gaprindashvili tiene previsto plantear una demanda judicial contra Netflix. En la adaptación televisiva de la novela escrita por Walter Tevis, se constató que la campeona del mundo femenina nunca se había enfrentado con un hombre. A Gaprindashvili y sus abogados esta afirmación parece gravemente sexista e humillante.
Es cierto que Gaprindashvili sí ha jugado contra hombres. Pero por el otro lado, tampoco es que haya competido por el título en el Campeonato del Mundo Absoluto, con hombres.
