Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, aquel jugador que únicamente se ha podido incorporar a la competición debido al retiro de Teimour Radjabov que sí se había mostrado preocupado por la crisis del coronavirus, venció a Ding Liren y comparte el mando con Ian Nepomniachtchi, Fabiano Caruana y Wang Hao (1,5/2).
